Save your search criteria once, and CoverGuard watches for new matching properties so you never miss one.
Who this is for: everyone — Home Buyers, Sellers, Agents, Lenders, and Insurance Brokers. Where: the Search tab (/check). Time: ~2 min.
Why this matters
Markets move fast. Instead of re-running the same search every day, save it with a name and a notification frequency. When a new property matching your criteria appears, you get alerted — daily, weekly, or immediately. Agents can use this to monitor an area for a client without lifting a finger.
How to save a search
- Open the Search tab (
/check). - Run a search — enter an area, budget, risk filters, or a natural-language query like "low-flood homes in Tampa under $500K."
- Once your results appear, click Save this search (agents see Monitor this area).
- Give the saved search a name (e.g., "Austin flood-safe under $400K").
- Choose a notification frequency:
- Immediate — notified as soon as a new match is found
- Daily — a single digest each day
- Weekly — a weekly summary
- Click Save.
Your saved search appears in the Saved searches panel on the Search tab.
Managing saved searches
From the Saved searches panel you can:
- Enable / disable a search — pause notifications without deleting the criteria.
- Edit the name or frequency.
- Re-run a saved search to see current matches instantly.
- Delete a search you no longer need.
You can save up to 20 searches per account.
What you'll see
When a new property matches one of your active saved searches, you receive a notification (in-app bell, and optionally email depending on your notification preferences). The notification tells you which saved search matched and links directly to the new property.
Tips
- Use descriptive names so you remember what each alert watches — "Client: Smith — Sarasota waterfront" is easier to manage than "Search 3."
- Disable instead of deleting if you want to pause alerts temporarily (e.g., while a client is under contract) — you can re-enable later without re-entering the criteria.
- Combine with risk filters for precision: save a search with "insurableOnly" or a max risk band so you only hear about properties that actually fit your requirements.
Troubleshooting
- "I'm not getting notifications" → check that the saved search is enabled (not paused). Also check your notification preferences under Account — you may have email notifications turned off. See Notifications & emails.
- "I hit the 20-search limit" → delete or consolidate searches you no longer need.
- "My saved search isn't finding anything" → your criteria may be too narrow. Try broadening the area or relaxing the risk/budget filters, then re-save.
