What it decides
Tells a buyer on the listing whether the home is likely to be straightforward to insure, before they ask.
Limitation
Not a quote and not a carrier's decision. Neither the card nor the public Record it links to shows carriers.
When to refresh
The card reads the CoverGuard Score on each load. A result is cached for at most 15 minutes, and not at all once the CoverGuard Score is more than 24 hours old. Refresh the Record to update every listing that embeds it.
What the card shows when there is no CoverGuard Score

    Nothing to do. The frame loads lazily, so it never holds up the listing page.

  • Too little public hazard data

    No CoverGuard Score is shown, never a zero or a guess. Open the property in CoverGuard and refresh its Record.

  • Not assessed yet

    Open the property in CoverGuard and refresh its Record, then reload the listing.

  • CoverGuard could not be reached

    The card stays neutral and the listing is unaffected. The next page load tries again.

  • Identifier withdrawn

    The Record identifier was rotated. Paste the current one into the listing.

  • Identifier not recognised

    This listing’s CoverGuard Record identifier is not recognised.

    Check the identifier matches the property's Record link. There is no link to follow until it does.

Built to be a good guest

Most embedded-widget problems are context collisions. These are the guarantees the CoverGuard widget makes inside your product.

A respectful guest

Loads lazily into a fixed-height frame with no scrollbars, and never takes focus or opens anything on load. Give the placeholder the size’s height and nothing on your page moves.

Fits your listing

Compact shows the Score alone; standard and expanded add a link to the full Record. One attribute sets the link’s accent colour on the light card, another turns the card dark, and the Score keeps the card’s own colours.

Readable without colour

The Score and its band are text, not a colour alone, the frame is titled for screen readers, and the link, where the size has one, is a real link. The card is checked by an automated accessibility scan.

Style-isolated both ways

An iframe, so no CSS leaks in or out. No cookies, and no access to your page or its data.

Fails quietly

If the Score cannot be read in time, the card says so, neutral, and never shows a guess. Without JavaScript the placeholder stays empty and your listing is untouched.

Never cached stale

Standard and expanded cards print the date of every Score they show. A Score is never cached for more than 15 minutes, nor at all once it is more than 24 hours old, and one with no assessment date is not shown.

Fit it in, don't bolt it on

The card can go dark, its link (where it has one) takes your accent colour, and it carries the CoverGuard name, so it sits in your listing and still says where the Score comes from. Let's scope your integration.
