How-to guides

Using the CoverGuard mobile app

Install CoverGuard on your phone and get a focused, three-tab app — Search, Property, and Settings — so you can check a home's insurability from anywhere in a couple of taps.

Who this is for: anyone who wants CoverGuard on their phone — Home Buyers checking a listing on the go, Agents pulling a report between showings. Where: your phone's home screen (Android or iPhone). Time: ~2 min to install.

New here? Do Getting started first (signup, terms, navigation) — the mobile app uses the same account.

Why this matters

CoverGuard on your phone is stripped down to the moves that matter when you're standing in front of a property: search an address, read its report, and manage your account. The busy desktop workspace (dashboard, agents, admin tools) is set aside so the phone stays fast and uncluttered.

How to install

iPhone (Safari):

  1. Open coverguard.io in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
  3. Open CoverGuard from your home screen — it now runs full screen, like a native app.

Android (Chrome):

  1. Open coverguard.io in Chrome (or install CoverGuard from the Google Play Store).
  2. When Chrome offers Install app (or use the menu → Install app / Add to Home screen), accept it.
  3. Open CoverGuard from your app drawer or home screen.

The app opens straight to Search. If you're signed out, it opens the login / create-account screen first.

What you'll see / What it means

The mobile app has a bottom bar with three tabs — that's the whole navigation:

TabWhat it's for
SearchLook up any US address, or shop by budget. This is the home tab. See Property search.
PropertyYour saved properties and their reports. Open one to read the full risk, carrier, and valuation report. See Reading a property report.
SettingsYour account, notifications, plan, and Sign out.

The same account, data, and reports you use on desktop are here — nothing is lost, just fewer things on screen at once. Risk scores and premium estimates are still decision support, not a binding quote — confirm final terms with the carrier.

Tips

  • Phone-width browser tabs get this same simplified layout even without installing — installing just makes it full screen and one tap away.
  • Turn on notifications from the Settings tab so carrier-exit and renewal alerts reach your phone. See Notifications & emails.
  • Need the full desktop workspace (dashboard, clients, agents, admin)? Open CoverGuard in a desktop browser — those surfaces live there.

Troubleshooting / Common questions

  • "The app shows browser bars instead of running full screen." → On Android, this means the app link isn't verified yet; reinstall from the Play Store or re-add to your home screen. On iPhone, make sure you used Add to Home Screen in Safari (not another browser).
  • "I can't find Dashboard / Clients / Agents on my phone." → Those are intentionally desktop-only in the mobile app. Open CoverGuard in a desktop browser to reach them.
  • "I need to sign out." → Open the Settings tab and tap Sign out — there's no side menu on mobile.
